About Massimo Bar Galway

Situated in the vibrant heart of Galway’s Westend at 10 William Street West, Massimo has been a beloved local institution since it first opened its doors in 2001. Originally named after a pet hamster, the bar has grown into one of the city’s most stylish and energetic social hubs over two decades.

Massimo is known for its lively atmosphere, creative drinks, and welcoming vibe. By day and early evening, it’s a great spot to catch up with friends over expertly made cocktails, craft beers, whiskeys and wine, or enjoy sport on multiple large-screen TVs. As the night unfolds, the venue transforms into a bustling nightlife destination — with DJs, dancing, live music and themed events helping keep the energy high late into the weekend.

A recent addition to Massimo, The Soul Garden, adds a popular outdoor dimension to the bar’s social scene and can be booked for private events and celebrations.

Over the years, Massimo has become a go-to venue for table quizzes, karaoke nights, themed parties, art classes, workshops and community gatherings, making it a fixture of Galway city life and a favourite for both locals and visitors alike.
